*As of March 11, 2026, the project was awarded to Northwoods, with an awarded amount of $2,981,687.97.** 2026 CTH-A Rehabilitation Said bids shall be for furnishing all labor, material, equipment, etc., necessary and required for the following work: Pulverize (4.26 miles), mill (4.6 miles) and place asphalt material, compact and grade, place new asphalt paving and shoulder gravel along CTH-A from USH-2 to Halfway Road, 8.86 miles. 1.1 It is the intent of the Bayfield County Highway Department (OWNER) to award a contractor the 2026 Road Improvements Projects for CTH A in the Town of Iron River, Hughes, and Barnes, from USH-2 to Halfway Road. 1.2 The work under this contract shall consist of pulverizing, milling, relaying existing asphalt pavement, hot mix asphalt paving, shouldering, pavement marking and all incidental items necessary to complete the work. 1.3 The full project length extends from USH-2 to Halfway Road. 1.4 The segment from USH-2 to Ruth Lake Road, 4.26 miles (22,492 feet), shall be completed as a mill and relay project consisting of a 2-inch mill and a 3-inch HMA relay (1.25-inch leveling/base layer and 1.75-inch surface layer) using 4MT 58- 34S asphalt mix. 1.5 The segment from Ruth Lake Road to Halfway Road, 4.6 miles (24,289 feet), shall be completed as a full depth pulverization and pave project followed by placement of a total of 5 inches of HMA pavement.(3-inch 3MT 58-28S base layer and 2-inch 4MT 58-34S surface layer) 1.6 The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment to complete the improvements as defined in these specifications.
