Site work for a mixed-use development in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.

The work includes removing an existing trail and installing a 5’x12’ box culvert with an 8’ wide PCC trail, as well as removing and replacing sanitary sewer pipe adjacent to the culvert. The work consists of 300 SY of modified subbase, 60 LF sanitary sewer gravity main, 14 LF of 5’x12’ concrete box culvert, 245 SY of 6” PCC sidewalk, 450 tons of type E riprap, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the City of Marion, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope. Any alteration of the proposal form may be cause for rejection. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders, placed in a separate envelope attached to the bid. Bidders must submit a completed and signed statement re garding resident status on the designated form, as well as a completed and signed Equal Employment Opportunity / Non-Discrimination Policy Statement. Failure to provide these statements may result in the bid b eing deemed nonresponsive and rejected by the city. The City will ensure full and fair opportunity for disadvantaged business enterprises and will not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin in contract awards. Each successful bidder must furnish a corporate surety bond equal to 100% of the contract price, guaranteeing faithful performance and payment of all materials and labor, and protecting the City from damages caused by contract operations. Upon project completion, the contractor must post a maintenance bond (2-year for sewer or 4-year for paving) or pay 1.5% of the final contract amount, as determined by the City Engineer. Payment will be made from available funds, with 97% paid upon final acceptance and the remainder no sooner than 31 days after acceptance. State of Iowa Sales Tax exemption applies to project items, and preference will be given to Iowa products and labor as required by law.
