The general nature of the work is: 985 SY of PCC Full Depth Patch, 113 LF of 6” Sanitary Sewer C900, 467 LF of 8” Sanitary Sewer PVC Truss, 10 LF of 10” Sanitary Sewer PVC Truss, 19 LF of 12” Sanitary Sewer PVC Truss, 10 LF of 15” Sanitary Sewer PVC Truss, 33 LF of 4” Sanitary Sewer Services, 12 Sanitary Sewer Manholes, 23 SY of 4” PCC Sidewalk, 6 SY of 6” PCC Sidewalk Ramp, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. All bids shall be submitted on the Proposal Form furnished, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope indicating it is a bid in response to this notice. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders, placed in a separate envelope attached to the bid. Every bidder shall submit a properly completed and signed statement regarding the bidder’s resident status on the designated form. Each Bidder shall complete and sign the Equal Employment Opportunity / Non-Discrimination Policy Statement and submit it with the bid proposal. The City of Marion reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for up to thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each successful bidder must furnish a corporate surety bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. A maintenance bond (2-year for sewer or 4-year for paving) or a cash payment of 1.5 percent of the final contract amount will be required prior to final acceptance. Items are exempt from State of Iowa Sales Tax, and tax should not be included in bid prices. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
